Joe Prindl began learning the Double Bass with Claudia Lang—Colmer when he was 9 years old. At the age of 13 he moved to Wells Cathedral School to study with David Heyes, where he won the Strings Cup, and a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music.
Whilst at the Royal Academy he studied with Dominic Seldis, Graham Mitchell and Tom Goodman. Joe moved to Amsterdam to study his master’s with Olivier Thiery and Ying Lai Green at Conservatorium van Amsterdam, graduating Cum Laude in June 2021. Since graduating Joe enjoys a busy and varied freelance career of orchestral and chamber music – substituting with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. For the 2023/24 season Joe participates in Rotterdam philharmonic’s orchestral academy.
