Keimpe de Jong (Sneek, 1957, Rotterdam sinds 1978) is saxofonist, componist, liedjesschrijver, theatermaker, dirigent en muzikale evenementen-bedenker.

Keimpe de Jong (Sneek, 1957, Rotterdam since 1978) is a saxophonist, composer, songwriter, theatre maker, conductor and musical event creator. Is part of the 9-piece line-up of De Nazaten: Surinamese-Dutch jazz ensemble. Conductor of LuxorTheaterOrkest “De Bak” and of the IKEI concerts, annually in De Doelen with members of the RPhO and in LantarenVenster with the New RotterdamJazzOrchestra. For each concert, they accompany 150 primary school pupils who have had instrumental lessons at school through the SKVR. Writes music and songs for theatre performances, and performs in them live. Among others for the solos by John Buijsman, TheaterHofplein, Jeugdtheaters Maas and Artemis. With the back-and-forth show Hallo Dampkring he travelled to Japan and is going to Korea. With the children’s hit “De Man die Alles Weet” (The Man Who Knows Everything), he is already touring for the third season in the Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain.

With Rotterdam writer Elfie Tromp he made “Monster Love Town” and is now working on their latest, “Dis Manibus”.

In Rotterdam he regularly commits himself to amateur projects in the field of theatre and music.

Productions by St. Joep: Rats and Red Hussars (2015) PINCOFF’S (2017) and Storm and Silence (2019). Is artistically involved in the annual Kid Dynamite Festival on Katendrecht as programmer and leader of the Dynamite Kids. For the third season, he is organising the concert series for North Sea Round Town in nursing homes and homes of the district.
