Zangeres en songwriter met verschillende projecten, waaronder haar eigen project ’Nana M. Rose’.

Nana Peijnenburg

Rotterdam-based songstress Nana M. Rose writes beautiful, touching pop ballads and light, bittersweet indie-folk,  showcasing her “grounded, mighty vocal range” (Earmilk). Following her recent release of her EP ‘Morning Drops & Lemon Seeds’, she has been dubbed “a stand out star in the night sky of music” by music press heavyweight 1883 Magazine.

Nana’s delicate, poetic lyrics explore the meaning of human connection in an ultra-competitive, individualistic world. As a child, Nana started playing the violin, the classical influence of which is still reflected in her carefully crafted melodies and arrangements. In combination with later inspirations like Adele, Lianne la Havas and Matt Corby, a unique pop-sound steeped in melancholy and weltschmerz has been born.

Nana discovered her voice when she was 15 and has shared her incredible voice with audiences ever since. Aged 18 she spent 4 months in London, exploring the local music scene and gaining live experience. Through various open mics she discovered her ability to convey emotion to her audience. Back in Rotterdam, she went on to study pop vocals and songwriting at the renowned Codarts Conservatory.

In 2019 and 2020, Nana M. Rose toured the UK, New York and The Netherlands. Nana’s debut single ‘Love Me Like I Love You’ (2020), a co-write with London-based producer Louis Souyave (‘Be A Lady’, Maddox Jones), was nominated for the 2020 Rotterdam ‘Song of the Year’ award. Nana has performed live on leading Dutch radio flagships 3fm (Kevin’s ‘Parels van de Nacht’ & ‘3voor12 Radio’) and Radio 2 (‘Het Muziekcafé’ and ‘Giel’) and her songs have received airplay by tastemaker stations such as Islington Radio (UK) and Amazing Radio (UK). Nana has been selected for this year’s ‘Popronde’, a prestigious showcase festival with various shows all across the Netherlands between September and November this year.

On June 18th, Nana M. Rose released her long-anticipated debut EP ‘Morning Drops & Lemon Seeds’, a collection of her three previously-released singles and two brand new tracks that have never been shared before. The Rotterdam-based singer-songwriter is presenting a truly riveting body of work that showcases her incredible talent as both a songwriter and vocal performer in all its facets and glory, and skillfully bridges the gap between dreamy indie folk and cinematic pop ballads.
