Romain Bly

Romain Bly, born in 1987, spent his youth in Paris, where he studied classical trumpet and later French horn. On this instrument, he obtained a 1st Prix d’Excellence in Performance and Chamber Music at Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory, as well as a 1st prize in UFAM International Chamber Music Competition. Because of his passion for the symphony orchestra, he becomes a permanent member of Orchestre-Atelier Ostinato and plays first horn in Orchestre Symphonique du Loiret, chosen by the European Commission to go to Damascus National Opera for a creation with a Syrian/European ensemble and join the Camerata of Tirana at the International Music Festival of Calenzana (Corsica) with the pianist Stephen Kovacevich as soloist. Meanwhile, Romain continues to play trumpet, with numerous artists from the Parisian pop / reggae / funk scene, and founded the band Les Gars Dans L’Coin. He also obtained his final diploma in Natural Horn Performance with the highest mark in CRR Paris. In 2011 he moved to Rotterdam to develop his skills with Bob Stoel, Martin van de Merwe and Teunis van der Zwart.
