Brussels based drummer Denis Baeten wanted to strike hard with the release of his first album with an original concept : try to entirely produce a full length album in one day. By inviting musicians at the studio without a rehearsal, Denis wanted to capture the energy of the moment in the most spontaneous way possible. Going back to the essence of Jazz but with a totally modern sound. The mix is done in real time and the graphic designer got inspired by the music while creating the artwork directly at the studio as well. The whole day got filmed and edited into a documentary that has been put on a custom USB stick. The USB stick comes with a custom box that has been made that same day. A collector object containing some rough, uncompromised music, between melodic modern jazz, wild rock’n’roll, dreamy pop and a « film noir » soundtrack. De in Brussel woonachtige drummer Denis Baeten wilde graag hard toeslaan met de release van zijn eerste album door een origineel concept neer te zetten: proberen om binnen 1 dag een volledig album te produceren. Hij nodigde muzikanten in de studio uit, zonder dat er gerepeteerd was wilde Denis de energie van dat moment op de meest spontane manier vastleggen. Hij gaat terug naar de essentie van jazz maar met een modern geluid. De mix is live gemaakt en de grafisch ontwerper heeft geïnspireerd door de muziek het artwork gelijktijdig ontworpen in de studio. De dag is gefilmd en geëdit als documentaire en op een USB stick gezet. De USB stick zit in een op maat gemaakt verpakking die óók op dezelfde dag gemaakt is. Een verzamelaarsobject met de ruwe compromisloze muziek die het midden houd tusen melodische moderne jazz, wilde rock ’n roll, dromerige pop en een film noir soundtrack. Denis nodigt je op 5 maart uit om de making of documentaire van deze unieke performance te bekijken, gevolgd door een live-optreden.
