Dareyn, which means ‘two worlds’ in the Ottoman language, combines the
the mystical sound of the kemenche – with its heritage of traditional music
originating from Istanbul and the Silk Road – with the deep-rooted sound of the
voice and piano in a contemporary fashion.
Echoes of the Silk Road is a dynamic musical collaboration that brings together
the talents of three female artists from South Korea and Turkey.
Through a fusion of Korean, Turkish, Western Classical, and jazz music, the
ensemble creates a captivating blend of diverse musical traditions. By drawing
inspiration from the rich musical heritage of the Silk Road, the Dareyn Ensemble
offers a contemporary interpretation that reflects the cultural exchange and
artistic innovation that characterized this historic route.
