Aura Rascón

Aura is een Mexicaanse/Nederlandse fluitist, docent, componist, veelzijdige musicus, en culturele ondernemer die passie heeft voor diversiteit, verbinden van culturen en interdisciplinaire kunst projecten.

Aura Rascón

Aura Rascón is a flutist, composer and interdisciplinary artist from Mexico. She works internationally for a wide variety of concepts, such as: solo and group concerts, recordings, teaching, interdisciplinary street theater and theater plays.

As a musician who plays the bansuri (an Indian flute, made of bamboo), Aura gives solo concerts of Hindustani classical music in Europe, India and Mexico. She has toured together with her teacher, the worldwide known Pdt. Hariprasad Chaurasia in the United States, India, Mexico, Europe and Brazil. She has also collaborated and performed with some of the most renowned Indian musicians of the younger generation.

Recently, Aura was also featured as a bansuri soloist on the OHM TV Channel, and was also one of the musicians who played on the soundtrack of the Dutch documentary about Ela Gandhi’s visit to the Netherlands. In October 2017, a short documentary about Aura and her relationship with her master was released and shown on Dutch television (NPO2). She was also selected as an instrumentalist by the Indian Embassy to participate in a video recording in celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, which was featured on the official YouTube channel of M. Modi, Prime Minister of India.
